Punjab Red Cross launches Doctor Aap de Dwar Scheme
The Hon’ble Governor of Punjab, Shri Gulab Chand Kataria flagged off a fleet of 4 Red Cross Mobile Medical Units (MMUs), from the Punjab Raj Bhawan. One MMU each has been allocated to the districts of Jalandhar, Patiala, Barnala and Gurdaspur.
He observed that these MMUs procured through CSR funding, would go a long way in providing doorstep healthcare in the underserved and vulnerable remote areas of the State.
Each fully equipped MMU would be staffed with a Doctor, Nurse, Pharmacist and Driver, and would also provide free medicines to the needy, apart from free medical checkups and the basic medical tests.
The Governor appreciated the Indian Red Cross Society, Punjab State Branch and the CSR initiative, for this noble endeavour.
