The Bhakra Beas Management Board in collaboration with Indian Red Cross Society, Punjab State Branch, Chandigarh and NGO SEWA celebrated World Menstrual Hygiene Day on May 28, 2025 at Jagatpura, Mohali. This event was held under the guidance of Secretary of the Punjab State Branch, S. Shivdular Singh Dhillon, IAS (Retd.)
Menstrual Hygiene Day is celebrated on 28th May every year. The theme for this year’s celebration is “Together for a #PeriodFriendlyWorld”

The event featured a donation drive where menstrual hygiene products were distributed, aiming to support those in need and promote menstrual health. Punjab State Red Cross Branch, encouraged women to adopt good menstrual hygiene practices, such as using clean and safe products, maintaining personal hygiene, and seeking medical attention when needed.

This initiative not only provided essential products but also raised awareness about the importance of menstrual hygiene, breaking stigmas and promoting a culture of openness and support.
By working together, the organizations aimed to create a more inclusive and supportive environment for women, empowering them to manage their menstrual health with dignity and confidence.

The collaboration highlights the significance of partnerships in driving positive change and promoting public health, particularly for women and girls who face challenges in accessing menstrual hygiene products and information.
