Indian Red Cross Society, Punjab State Branch Six-Day Anti-Drug Awareness March Concludes
“War Against Drugs” Campaign to Continue.
The sixth day awareness march, which began at Dera Baba Nanak on April 3rd, concluded yesterday at the historic Jallianwala Bagh. On the final day. The Governor of Punjab cum President of Punjab State Red Cross urged the people of Punjab to take a stand and initiate a public movement against the menace of drugs. He emphasized that the fight against drugs cannot be won by the government or any individual alone – it requires the collective will and support of the people.
The march began at Bhandari Bridge, passed through Hall Bazaar, and culminated at
Jallianwala Bagh, a place forever etched in history by the sacrifices of our martyrs.
The Indian Red Cross Society, Punjab State Branch, has launched a powerful anti-drug campaign in Punjab, aligning with the state government’s initiative to combat drug abuse. The campaign kicked off with a mega rally, “Yudh Nashiya Virudh,” a foot march against drugs, starting from the Kartarpur Corridor in Dera Baba Nanak on April 3, 2025.
Governor of Punjab cum President of Punjab State Red Cross Branch, Sh. Gulab Chand Kataria Ji, energetically inaugurated the walk, demonstrating his commitment to the cause. The rally aims to raise awareness about the dangers of drug abuse and promote a drug-free community, encouraging individuals to join the fight against this social menace.
